Overview
blueAIC a research-driven technology provider for online-adaptive AI systems in industrial environments. Its activities are structured around three core areas:
- Research and Development
Design and further development of proprietary online machine learning methods and their transfer into industry-ready software libraries for real-world applications. - AI-driven Edge Computing (AIoT)
Realization of system components and prototypes for AI-based data analytics and automation, built on industrial-grade enclosure and connectivity technology – designed for applications ranging from laboratory operation to productive field deployment. - Consulting
Support from initial feasibility analysis to the implementation of AI-based products, processes, and applications.
Objective
The objective is to advance the transformation of AI applications from batch learning to online learning, thereby reducing resource demands and enabling continuous adaptivity across the entire lifecycle. In doing so, blueAIC contributes to more efficient, flexible, and sustainable AI systems as well as to new applications in decentralized online data processing.
Foundation
blueAIC was founded in January 2026 within the academic environment of South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Department of Electrical Engineering. Its technical foundation is rooted in the group of automation technology and learning systems.

Sustainability
blueAIC is committed to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. The 17 global sustainability goals defined therein constitute the normative reference framework for the company’s strategic orientation as well as for the selection and implementation of projects.
Scientific Integrity
blueAIC adheres to the generally recognized principles of scientific integrity. Key elements include transparency in the presentation of methods and results, methodological rigor, traceability, and the responsible handling of data. Research, development, and commercial implementation are clearly distinguished. Proprietary implementations are carried out in alignment with these principles and with the guiding principles set forth in the European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity.
Logo and Company Name
The Logo
At the center is the Earth as a symbol of global thinking and responsible action. The surrounding lines resemble protective hands and open toward the upper right – representing the deliberate elevation of AI technology and its applications to the next level.
In its overall form, the logo creates the image of an eye, symbolizing our approach to advancing AI technology with a clear view of the challenges of our time and translating it into sustainable solutions.
The Company Name
The name consistently reflects this visual concept.
blue stands for novel technology in the service of sustainable solutions.
AIC stands for Artificial Intelligence Components and describes the approach of developing modular, efficient AI building blocks.
The name is pronounced “blue eyes.”
Management
blueAIC is led by Dipl.-Inform. Detlef Arend as Founder and Managing Director.
He has many years of experience as a software developer, development manager, and management consultant in the industrial SME sector across the DACH region.
Since 2020, he has been conducting research and pursuing a doctorate in the field of online-adaptive systems, focusing on the development of efficient algorithms and their industrial applicability.
